I was deeply skeptical that there was an alternative to electroplating, and assumed this would be a scam product I would have to return. I was amazed that it worked perfectly and very easily, producing a shiny silver surface in seconds. As described, the product initially blackens, and then the silver adheres to the metal as you keep rubbing. It is kind of miraculous. Shake the bottle well before use, I think the silver is in suspension somehow, and definitely wear gloves. Review: Works magic on plated copper! - Wanted to re-plate my old copper-plated candle sticks, which showed heavy 'bleeding'. However, was not sure about the effect so tried it on a brass-plated server first. After a lot of elbow grease and using abt. 1/3rd of the bottle, nothing had happened, also not on a brass sugar spoon, very disappointing! Then decided to put some of the solution on and old copper penny, and that worked! Felt more confident to use it on my candlesticks then, but tried the bobeche first, which came up very nicely. Worked my way round both candlesticks and they look absolutely beautiful again. Very pleased with the result, so a big thank you to Nushine!! First pic shows the original colour, 2nd pic is half the foot done, 3rd pic is after treating it completely. They are ready for next Christmas! If it's brass, then the plating should work, although any lacquer coating would have to be removed first, as the plating works only on metal. Same if the effect is plastic or paint. Best try it on an inconspicuous area first. That's what I do with my candlesticks. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well, Silver plating over copper/ brass handmade pendant *by T***A on 25 May 2026* I made a reticulated heart pendant but at the final stage my pickling mix got contaminated and it turned brass from copper, so I thought I'd try this to silver plate it. I only really gave it one coat but it looks amazing now, it went from mottled coppery brass to shiny silver.
