This Herdwick wool pad sits in the flue above the fireplace, blocks that airflow, and the room warms up noticeably and holds its heat. - Wool felt stops the draught while still letting the chimney breathe, so it works on a disused fireplace without trapping damp or condensation behind it. It also keeps soot, dust and the odd stray bird out of the room. - Getting the size right is what makes it seal, and it's the usual reason for a return. Measure your opening front to back and side to side, then pick the size whose fit range matches. Round, square and oblong sizes are all covered. - It fits by hand in seconds, no tools, and sits neatly out of sight. Take it out before you light a fire, and the reminder tag hangs into the hearth so nobody forgets. Moth-proofed and reusable for years. It stores in the Chimney Sheep Wrap. - Made in Cumbria from British Herdwick fleece. My 7.5 inch chimney draught excluder is a bit loose in our 7 inch flue but still works. **Q: My chimney is 10" ×12" what size chimney sheep should I order?** A: Hello, We'd recommend our 13" x 13" Chimney Sheep - so it's a little bigger in each direction than the chimney so it holds itself in place! Kind Regards, Taylor **Q: Will this work/ fit a 5 1/2 inch old gas fire flue? Gas fire has been taken out obviously** A: The 8" Round should work for that as it will simply squash into place. Kind regards Susan Chimney Sheep Ltd **Q: I’m considering using a bio ethanol fire insert for my log burner. Do I need to remove the sheep and can I keep the door closed when lit?** A: Hello, In this situation I would advise removing the sheep - simply because bioethanol log burner inserts are generally not flueless!
