So #1: Please seriously consider buying yourself a good surge protector for all your electronic equipment. #2: I had a lot of trouble trying to get the new base station to connect with the Internet (the light on the front kept flashing orange). So I changed the cable from the base station to my smart modem and I also changed the port the base station was plugged into on the modem.
