Didn't change the firmware, left it alone and ended up finding a slightly older version of SavvyCAN that someone made a plugin for (drop a .dll into the SavvyCAN canbus folder). This allowed SavvyCAN to work with the Candlelight firmware that this thing came with. Not sure how you beat this for $17. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Updated version works fine. *by on Reviewed in the United States November 20, 2023* After reading the various reviews on this, I decided to take a chance. There are a couple reviews here talking about how the CAN-L line is shorted to ground. Indeed this was an issue at one point. Upon reading some of the reviews from other countries, it looks like DSD Tech was aware of the issue and fixed it, commenting as much on various reviews. So I hope that people who got the version shorted were able to get a replacement from DSD Tech.My experience with this has been fine. I did use a multimeter before intial use to see if I got the updated board or not and indeed, my board was fine. No shorts between CAN-L and ground. Instsalled drivers and such on my laptop, hooked up everyting to my 2011 VW Golf. Works fine with both SavvyCan and CANHacker.Using this setup to research the data packets sent over the CANBUS.
