For the panels to be most effective on the ground, be sure that they are angled at 45 degrees to the sun for maximum heat collection. All you need are a few straps or clips to secure them to a solar panel rack or ground. That is four 2x20' panels. They are connected in parallel, which give the water the slowest velocity trough the piping. I calculate there is almost almost 4,000 feet of 1/4" pipe in the system.The panels exceed my expectations. They save me $25 a day in propane.I use a 3.3gpm marine pump to suck water out of the hot tub, run it through the solar collectors and return it to the hot tub. I am using 1/2" pvc and 1/2" irrigation pipe to and from the panels. The panels did not come with connectors, I used 1.5 inch threaded PVC. If I could, I would have used hose and hose clamps.Initially I had the water going in at the highest level and coming out at the lowest level. But using a temperature gun and giggling the panels, the panels were not all filling up. I reversed this by simply reversing the motor connections and it works like a charm.My hot tub is 700 gallons. I keep a bubble wrap cover floating on the water. I have the pump on a motor with a 100 degree temperature override. It is a 100 watt motor and it runs on solar. The motor is set to run from 9am until 5pm unless the temperature exceeds 100 degrees.It starts the morning at 80 degrees and by 11am it is 85*F, by 1pm it is 90*F and by 4pm it is 95*F-99*F depending on the sun. All of this at an ambient temperature of 78*F. It was cloudy the first few days I used it but the hot tub still got to 85 degrees.The way my system is set up, I get about a 10 degree increase in temperature up to about 103 degrees. If the tub is 80, the incoming water is 90. If the tub is 90, the incoming water is 100. If the tub is 99, the incoming water is 103.I am not sure if I am using the panels most efficiently, I would only be able to test that by varying the gallons per minute and I don't have that capability.I was thinking of adding two more panels so that the tub get hotter, quicker. It would still only get to 99 degrees, but it would get there faster.I may mount them on the roof but I want to make sure I figure out the estetics.You could use this for a 20,000 gallon pool. You would need 5,000 sf of space and it would cost about $13,000. The pool would be at 95 degrees at 4pm. Some people spend over $2,000 a month in Cabo San Lucas heating their pools. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not what is stated *by S***Y on Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2020* Ordered a 4x20 and got two 2x20’s. We are on our th8rd one and the manufacturer was very rude and claimed they needed unreasonable proof their product wasn't durable and didn't last.
