I spent a alot of time when he was young working on positive recall using a whistle. Lots of praise and treats. It did work to a point but if he saw a rabbit or any other wildlife nothing would get him back. I had pretty much accepted the fact he was going to be on a extendable lead for ever more. I just didn't feel confident i could keep his attention near roads as fully enclosed areas are few and far between where I live. This was bought really as a last resort to try and enjoy walking him a bit more with less stress!The delivery arrived on the day specified and very well packed. Simple setup and instructions.First walk using the collar I used my normal whistle and if he ignored me or ran off I gave a blast on the lowest spray setting. After three or four uses of the spray during the whole walk he was so much more focused, listening to me and regularly popping back to my side. His recall has improved greatly on the whistle and I rarely have to use the spray button. I cannot overdo how much this has changed our lives. Me and my girlfriend are now able to run him properly but still confident we can get him to come back. I just took it out of the packaging, followed all the instructions...IT DOESN'T WORK. It's not even been on my dog yet. The spray function does not work at all. I've made sure it's full up. The battery is fully charged. I am furious. It cost a fortune. I have got through about 4 of these collars on my dog in the UK, for which it worked wonders, but often packed up. We gave up asking for replacements as he doesn't need it any more. But for my dog here in Kenya, who is a rescue GSP and REALLY needs this - what am I supposed to do now?!
