I first tried an off brand trying to save some money. It worked but not very well and not for very long. Then I went the other way I bought one of the newest and most expensive pinpointers on the market, it works but it is really to sensitive and cannot be turned down enough to make it practical as a pinpointer and it died after a year. I did get a replacement as it was under warranty but I was without my pinpointer while getting the warranty service completed. I bought this one because I could not be without a pinpointer in the peak of metal detecting season. Cue angelic music and light shining from above. No wonder this is the benchmark that all other pinpointers are measured against! It works great! The sensitivity can be turned up if you need it and turned down enough for accurate, close pinpointing. It is durable and easy to use.
