Basic setup required. This is NOT an OEM receiver, but it does use the official Microsoft driver for the official one. Windows 10 does not associate the driver with the device automatically, but it is not difficult to set up. All you have to do is go into device manager and find the receiver (if you don't know which one it is, simply unplug and replug the USB--it should disappear and reappear from the list of devices to help you identify it). From there you can choose a driver to associate with the device. All Windows computers have Xbox drivers installed by default, so you should already have it, but if for some reason you don't, it shouldn't be hard to find a download. There are plenty of YouTube videos explaining how to do this in greater detail. You will only have to do this once, not every time you use it. Pairing controllers is incredibly simple: just press the button on the receiver and the sync button on a controller and it will connect in seconds. I use this to play Clone Hero with an official Rock Band 2 Drum kit with a 3-Cymbal expansion, and it works flawlessly. There is zero input lag whatsoever, and I have never experienced overhits or dropped inputs. For a music game, input delay is extremely crucial, and this does the job without issue. One thing to be aware of is that you should remove the batteries of whatever controller you're using when finished playing; simply unplugging the receiver will make the controller continuously search for it seemingly indefinitely. You don't need to keep the batteries out (although it can't hurt) but if you don't disconnect the wireless controller's power source, you'll find the battery level to be dead by the next time you try to play anything. This got me a few times before I realized what was going on because the lights on the controller might go out after a while, but this seemingly doesn't mean that the controller stopped trying to connect.

Works perfectly with an Xbox 360 wireless guitar hero guitar for playing Clone Hero on PC. As mentioned in some other reviews, I didn't bother with any instructions/QR codes/links that came with this, I simply plugged it in, went to device manager, found the unknown device, did update driver, browse my computer for drivers, went to xbox 360 peripherals>xbox 360 wireless receiver, it installed instantly, I paired the wireless guitar and it immediately showed up in "manage USB game controllers" for testing buttons etc., and works great in clone hero.

Installion dauert 30s. wer schreibt das es nicht klappt hat keine Ahnung. Konnte seit langem meine alten 3 original 360 controller für die Fam wieder zumlaufen bringen! Danke. Original Controller sind immer noch die besten!

I have the original Microsoft one on my pc and use this non branded £10 cheaper one for my laptop. Both use Windows 10. I can confirm that they function identically and both use exactly the same drivers. So this is a very good value for money purchase. The only difference is the Microsoft one comes with a disc with the driver and installer on it, and the device is automatically matched to the driver when you plug it in. With this one, you have to download the drivers online and manually assign it to the device yourself. Unfortunately the instructions that come with this one are virtually non existant but a quick online search for chinese xbox 360 wireless receiver driver and setup and you'll be sorted. Works a treat!
