SMOOTH
Besides the DV P7 FEL support that everyone buys this for, I found this to be great device in other areas and a big upgrade to the Shield TV Pro (2019) given the community support this device has received. I have a huge Plex library and was a little concerned moving to a Kodi-centric setup at first. I found that at the time of this writing, PlexMod for Kodi installed on CoreELEC p3i (by the same developer) is a rock solid Plex setup, and unquestionably a better, more customizable experience than what was possible on the Shield. I can see now how much of a bottleneck that device was - here everything including high bitrate 4K UHD rips play extremely well. You hit play, no buffering, no loading, it just goes. Pausing, resuming, seeking, etc, are literally instant. This is endgame.

Excellent device.
If you've ended up browsing reviews for this older, obscure streaming box, I imagine you know roughly what you're getting into already. The community backing this device is amazing, there is ample assistance in getting CoreElec up and running on this thing. I had no issues whatsoever with that, installation and setup only took me ~30 mins. The speed of the device is quite snappy, I do not feel as if it's slow at all - browsing my collection of ~161 movies and ~39 series via plex is quite snappy, and it loads quite quickly. Occasionally I will have whole-hog 80+ GB 4K DV remuxes pause to buffer, but that's quite likely due to a bottleneck somewhere in my setup. After first installing, there were occasional hiccups with the device as well, but making sure it's updated helps a lot (fixed all of them I experienced), and again, the community behind this thing is awesome. The value of this device is excellent if you know what you're getting into and intend to back up your own library, coming in at under half the UB800 with more functionality. The one item I will disagree with many of these existing reviews on is the remote - a lot of people spoke negatively of it. It's certainly nothing fancy, but I thought it was perfectly adequate for its purpose and have had no issues with it not registering inputs, it paired easily...it's a remote, and it works. In summary, if you think this device is going to fit your needs, it msot likely will, and you won't regret the purchase. I certainly don't.

The Unicorn
Running the proper CoreELEC with the Plex add on gives you full Dolby Vision 7 Full Enhancement Layer support for ripped Blu-rays. It even allows for configuring an SMB connection to my NAS (running Plex Server) to avoid any Plex transcoding while still using the Plex interface for movies. Fully configurable for video and sound, you and set it up to perfectly match what your TV and sound system require for the best experience you'd get by playing the Blu-ray natively in a Blu-ray player. While it may seem expensive, what it delivers makes it seem more like a bargain. Interface is snappy with CoreELEC, no concerns with performance. I run Apple TV 4k for streaming and this for my local media. It's truly one of a kind.

Does what others can't, but it isn't perfect
This is the famed device that supports practically every media format in practical use. To that end, it's great! However, using the device is frustrating. The remote control is absolutely terrible, and connecting it is a pain. The design is confusing, with ports on multiple sides, making it difficult to position. I'm still not sure where the front is? Overall, it does something that few other devices available can do. But it ain't pretty, and it isn't particularly pleasant to use.

Awesome for Kodi
Great for Coreelec Kodi os and that should be the only reason for buying. Going to be the only box with full FEL support for a good while. The remote is ok, but only works when no dongle remote is used. For anyone who already knows what theyโre buying, custom loading should be cake. The process of loading the os is probably easier than setting up the correct desired settings for kodi.

Dolby Vision Profile 7 and Audio Passthrough; they work! But do you really need them?
This thing is niche enough that if you're reading this, you're probably planning to use it with CoreELEC just like I have. And the reason you want to do that is for audio passthrough and Dolby Vision profile 7 support on your Plex streams; so far it has handled both beautifully. And that's kind of it- it works! I will say this to anyone still on the fence though; if you have an Apple TV and it hasn't been causing you any problems, the advantage you'll get from this device is going to be marginal at best. Contrary to what some have stated, the Apple TV does support lossless audio out, it just repackages that audio as LPCM before sending it to your TV or receiver. For many, this will be completely fine. If you have a 5.1 channel audio system or lower, then you don't have any height channel speakers and won't be able to take advantage of formats like Dolby Atmos regardless. Dolby Vision P7 is a nice to have, but I honestly don't think I'd notice the difference between it and HDR10 unless I was viewing it side by side. MY issue, and what looks to be like an issue for a good amount of others...is that the Apple TV's massive LPCM sound stream was causing frequent issues with my receiver and TV. Audio would sometimes drift out of sync or even cut out entirely for a second or two when streaming movies with large lossless audio tracks; super annoying. If Apple allowed native audio passthrough this would not be an issue, but they don't and so some of us need a device like this that does. Of course, there are other devices like the Nvidia Shield that support passthrough, but the chip in that box is about a decade old now and I figure if I'm going to buy another streaming device, might as well have full Dolby Vision support as a bonus! All of which is to say, if you're happy with your Apple TV, then take it from me...I really don't think you need this. But if you've been having some of the issues I've mentioned, this device should round out your setup.

From Argentina to the world
Excellent device! It perfectly plays back 4K Blu-ray remuxes with Dolby Vision Profile 7 FEL (Full Enhancement Layer), delivering superior image quality compared to many competitors that ignore or mishandle this layer. Setup isn't overly complicated, especially with AI assistance: Grok provided accurate, up-to-date instructions, while Gemini suggested outdated steps that no longer apply to current firmware/CoreELEC versions. I stream my movies in full quality via NFS from my Synology DS218+ NAS, with rock-solid stability and no bufferingโeven on large files. 100% recommended for anyone seeking top-tier performance with Blu-ray remuxes and a premium home theater experience. 5 stars!

Best full DV+true-hd player with coreelec
Simple - one of 3 products in the world with the S922X chip. Installed CoreELEC + extras and can now enjoy direct streamed remuxed content from my server without having to find it in my bluray collection. lazyness for the win

Very satisfied
Very happy with my purchase of the Ugoos AM6B plus android TV box. The only box that supports proper Dolby Vision P7 FEl playback. Installation of dual-boot CoreElec was very easy and went without any problem. Really enjoying my UHD Dolby Vision collection now!

Great for CoreElec
I wouldn't recommend it over more polished devices for most things. But great for CoreElec with Dolby Vision playback and good Blu-ray menu handling for local media.
