Filtration is quite fast and the water actually tastes better (we get our water from a water tank in the hills above us and it is not tasty from the tap). I highly recommend this because it does a great job filtering, has a green light to indicate the filter is still "in season", and the filters last six months instead of just a couple. When seasons change, especially, the water is undrinkable from the tap because the taste is awful. This water pitcher with the blue filter makes the water practically without a taste at all! I don’t know how I lived without it, since water is the only thing I drink. I also use the filtered water for cooking.It is easy to replace an old filter with a new one. Just make sure you fill the pitcher with water and pour it out in the sink around eight times to make sure you aren’t tasting any of the filter’s contents in the water. The pitcher itself is sturdy and works well even after a year of using it at least twelve times a day, for drinking and cooking water.
