Asus PC-AC55BT PCIe Network Adapter

Works splendidly. Concerns? I was slightly concerned about the comments regarding Windows 10 compatibility, but couldn't myself see why it wouldn't be. Sure enough, I powered down, opened the side panel, connected the adapter card to my PCIe slot, hooked up the antenna, closed up, powered back on, and it worked, just like that. No manual driver installs necessary since I have an ethernet connection as well - Windows 10 did it automatically. The product does come with a disk for driver installation if need be. I would always recommend having a wired connection anyway, even if you want the benefits of wireless for convenience such as working with a printer which can only be connected to one type of network at a time. Wired is more secure, more stable, faster, and ideal for troubleshooting. How good is it? 5 stars. I have a modem/router downstairs by the TV (my uncle did it while I was away which is why it isn't upstairs where it'd have been more convenient!). I also have a second router in my upstairs office to service my devices there, including my PC. The issue was my TV needed to be on the same subnet as my PC to communicate, and the wireless signal of my router is apparently too weak to reach, but my phone has no problem using the modem's broadcast from upstairs, indicating it is stronger. So my solution had to be installing a wireless card on my PC so it could connect to the modem via wireless. This adapter enabled that; the signal to my PC is picked up strong, and there is no noticeable delay in streaming content from my PC to my TV. Obviously there is a slight delay in button presses, but once the stream is started, you don't notice. Perfect. As a bonus, it has bluetooth. (For techy people: no my issue was not to do with conflicting wireless broadcasts; I tested the signal strength months ago, disabling one and enabling the other, and the modem's 2.4GHz was better, so I turned off the modem's 5GHz and my router's 2.4GHz, and turned on my router's 5GHz so I had the wireless option on both routers for troubleshooting and any other purpose that might appear. My router's 5GHz was insufficient to connect the TV downstairs on the modem subnet, to the PC upstairs on the 2nd router subnet.)

Works well Throughput is acceptable for what it is and range seems to hold up nicely Installation was a breeze dropped it in the bottom PCI-E 8x (it will fit in larger slots you dont need a 1x slot to plug it in) to give my GPU a bit more breathing room. USB cable is ketchup and mustard which is a shame but is so low down in the case its not really noticeable. Only complaints are the size of the antenna could be increased to raise the DB level and no magnet to help it stay in place but it works as expected.

This is combination of Mini PCI-E to PCI-E adapter (perhaps with some little tweaks from Asus) and excellent Mini PCI-E WiFi card from Intel - model 8260. Which is exactly the reason why the product is a bit pricier, but it works flawlessly. Under Win10 64b there is no need to download drivers externally, you just plug and play. Speeds are exactly as expected - around 700Mb/s with AP on ground floor and antenna of this card on first floor horizontally in neighboring room, seeing around 40MB download which is 320Mb which is excellent speed. For everyone who don't understand speeds on WiFi, search for difference between Mb and MB, distinguish between speeds on different bands and focus on band you use, and remember that speeds on WiFi are advertised in half-duplex = sum of both directions. Theoretical maximum on 5GHz for this card is 867Mb/s which theoretically is 433Mb/s in each direction with direct line of sight and no interference and of course a few percents of overhead needs to be subtracted from this number too.

This adaptor has saved my wireless gaming and streaming needs. I had a cheap adaptor before that was older and didn't go up to the AC standard. This card has improved my wireless connection from consistently 1 bar to consistently full bars in the same position. The other benefit to this card is the wire for the aerials, which means that I have been able to attach the antenna to the front of my machine, rather than hidden away at the rear next to a wall. The speeds I achieve now are perfect for 1080p streaming, and low-ping gaming. Overall, a very good purchase.

Easy to install if you're comfortable with computers, but it was not plug and play for me personally using Windows 10 64 bit Professional. I had to download drivers from the Asus website and then restart the machine once or twice. WiFi reception is generally good, although I noticed that the Bluetooth reception was slightly weak. If you can find a Bluetooth 4.2 or even a Bluetooth 5 network card I would recommend the upgrade if this matters to you. I was disappointed by the antenna, which feel extremely flimsy for a network card listed with a RRP of £48. The antenna is entirely plastic without any magnets, and feels very light which means you may want to use tape or blu tack to stick it to your desk.

I had previously bought a cheap £10 wireless usb adapter which failed me badly and kept disconnecting. I have a desktop in my home and a 350mbs internet connection. The router is in the attic so I could not connect to it via a wire so I had to look for a wireless solution. I bought this adapter and I've been happy ever since. I get speeds up to 370-380mb/s when the network is not very busy, it has bluetooth as well which is quite good if you want to connect bluetooth devices, or if for example you want to transfer a phono betwen your phone and your computer. It's fast, reliable, and easy to install, and the antena is quite cute !

Fails frequently and needs to be reset in devices in order to run. This is not a good product.

Before beginning the review I want to confirm that I'm using Windows 10 64 bit. I bought the Asus PC-AC55BT network adapter as it was a good price and enabled Bluetooth connectivity. Installation was easy and as described in the instruction manual. I got this device working within minutes. Once installed internet speed was comparable to what I'd get from a wired (Ethernet) connection and Bluetooth worked perfectly and synced to my phone quickly. A little unsure if the packaged drivers are actually the correct ones for the device but they did work. I say this as the device appears as an Intel 7260 adapter in 'device manager' and accordingly Asus provide Intel PROset drivers. If you look on the Intel support webpage for the 7260 adapter you'll find that the 7260 isn't technically supported by the latest drivers. The reason why I give 4 stars is because I had a technical issue where the computer wouldn't shutdown; rather it would restart and I'd need to hold the power button for a few seconds to shutdown my computer. Once I'd removed the network adapter this fixed the issue. Therefore, overall the device worked great with strong wifi and Bluetooth connectivity but you may need to do some research and change settings to get this device to work properly.

The card is super easy to install and no additional drivers are required in Windows 10. The external antenna provides a strong signal. The Bluetooth enables connecting additional devices to the desktop and is bliss for motherboards that don't have Bluetooth in-built.

Produit conforme à la description et aux photos. Une très bonne carte Wifi, qui dès le déballage inspire confiance de par la qualité de ses composants. La mise en place est on ne peux plus simple, attention toutefois à bien disposer d'un port USB libre sur la carte mère, afin d'alimenter le module Bluetooth. L'installation sous Windows 10 se fait avec le CD fournis et ne pose aucuns problèmes, La mise à jour des drivers n'est pas une obligation pour son bon fonctionnement. Sur mon PC les vitesses de communication de la carte sont très proches de celles annoncées. Ce qui permet de tirer le meilleur parti de la Fibre via le Wifi. Le Bluetooth fonctionne parfaitement bien avec une très bonne portée, je n'ai jusqu'à présent rencontré aucuns problèmes de compatibilité ou de conflit. L'antenne déportée est un vrai plus, qui permet une bonne réception / émission du signal Wifi et qui évite les antennes empêtrés dans les câbles à l'arrière du boitier. Il est juste à regretter que les câbles de l'antenne soit un peu courts, suffisamment longs pour poser l'antenne sur le dessus du boitier de PC mais définitivement trop courts pour poser celle-ci sur le plan du bureau. Pleinement satisfait de ce produit, personnellement je recommande !

Compre el producto para arreglar un error, tenia la PCE51 un poco mas barata pero necesitaba bluetooth asi que la cambie por esta y sus beneficios tiene. Al principio me disgustó un poco el diseño de las antenas, en esa mini peana que las dobla, mas que nada porque la PCE51 tiene dos antenas grandes rigidas y las de este tienen un cable de 1m mas o menos hasta la peanita con las antenas, y la base no esta imantada, como otras que he tenido, por lo que es un coñazo andar con la peanita por fuera de la caja sin sujeccion (vale, podria ponerle un poco de cinta de doble cara y solucionarlo, pero como digo he tenido otras tarjetas asi con antenas asi, de cable hasta una peanita y si eran imantadas, lo cual paliaba un poco la incomodidad). Por lo demás, ninguna queja, el BT funciona perfectamente, buenas distancias (con cascos bluetooth puedo hasta irme por otras habitaciones sin perder nada). En cuanto al wifi Ac pues bien, se nota la diferencia de los Ac750 obviamente, principalmente si dispones de ancho de banda suficiente, yo diria mas de 300Mb de internet. Yo es lo que tengo, y con Ac 750 cojo unos 250-280 en el mejor de los casos, ahora dispongo de todo el ancho de banda desde un pc. Recomendaría su compra, no es muy caro (asus misma tiene otros modelos monisimos rojos, pero con incluso menos características, el bluetooth principalmente, y cobran mas por ser "gaming" y tener heatsinks rojos super cuquis, pero yo recomendaría esta, porque por unos cuantos leuros menos tienes un combo con BT4 (si os fijais falta en unas cuantas tarjetas de este tipo que esperarías que tuvieran), Ac 1200 y poco problema. Ademas yo uso mi pc para juegos entre otras cosas y no tengo la mas mínima queja.

Ich habe diese WLAN- und Bluetooth-Karte für einen neuen PC-Build gekauft und bin absolut zufrieden. Sie funktioniert einwandfrei unter Windows 10. Die Installation war kinderleicht: *Treiber vorher von der ASUS-Website heruntergeladen, *Karte in den PCIe 1.0-Steckplatz eingesetzt, *Dualband-Antenne angeschlossen – fertig. Sowohl WLAN als auch integriertes Bluetooth liefen direkt ohne Probleme oder Unterbrechungen. Die Verbindung ist stabil, und auch Bluetooth-Geräte wurden sofort erkannt. Ich bin mit dem Kauf sehr zufrieden und kann diese Karte jedem empfehlen, der nach einer zuverlässigen Lösung für WLAN und Bluetooth sucht.
