If You Have Aligner Buttons, You Need this Update!
I thought I was rocking my new aligners-wearing them with no problem, popping them out, cleaning them, sleeping with no issue, speaking clearly. Then they put in what they jauntily call "buttons". It's more like the devil's horns. They. Are. Miserable. Devices. Now I have to get used to these awful, giant, barbed-wire protrusions. It's not so bad when the aligners are on, but when they come off, it's like I have horns on my teeth jabbing at the soft inside of my mouth. That's nothing compared to trying to get these monsters off. The aligners now snap onto the "buttons". Unfortunately, they don't just snap off. Now the aligner key makes it fairly easy to pop the aligners off the "buttons". this is great since I already broke one aligner trying to pull the aligner out of my mouth by brute force and broken finger nails. BTW, it doesn't come with the little compact that is shown in the picture, and they are very expensive for what is probably about ten cents of plastic. But they are life-savers, so I guess they are worth the money. Update: It's been three weeks since I've worn the "devil's horns". My gums have gotten used to them and I can take off the top aligner pretty easily without the hook, but the bottom aligner is still about impossible to wrench out. I. LOVE. These. Tools. Another feature I discovered is you don't smear your lipstick like you do when you are using your fingers. Hint: keep one in the car, your aligner case, at work and at home. I found myself out for lunch one day and left my case aligner on the counter at home. I about panicked because trying to wrench the bottom aligner out in a public bathroom is not a pretty sight. Thankfully I left one in the glove box. Epic save.

SOOOOO helpful for Invisalign
Someone on the Facebook Invisalign group told me about this product, and I purchased the 2-pack. My first Invisalign aligner did not have brackets, and was very easy to pop off and on. However, once I got 14 attachments/buttons with my 2nd aligner, it was no longer easy to pop off. Reaching back into your mouth trying to gently grab the bottom edge of the tray with your nails is not fun, and doing that often would ruin my nails anyway. Plus, I always felt like using my nails was harsher on the tray overall. The first time I tried to use the Orthokey, I thought I would break the aligner or pull off some attachments. But now that I've used it for several weeks, it is my go-to thing and I feel lost without it. I like that it comes in a 2-pack, since I keep 1 in my travel bag and 1 in my bathroom at home. I kinda wish I had more for other places but I just use my nails when needed. It's so easy, you just put your index finger through the hole and align the hook to grab the back inner edge of the aligner and pull lightly. You can do this on both sides and it usually comes off. If not, use your hands or use the tool closer to the center to get the aligner all the way off. It makes the process so quick and easy. I definitely recommend to every single person doing Invisalign or similar clear aligners.

Useful if you don't have long enough fingernails.
Ok, so I do not use these everytime I take out my Invisalign but I ALWAYS have one of these with me because while 8 times out of 10, I can pull them out myself but there are those occassions where for whatever reason, I can get my Invisalign out almost all the way but then sometimes my right side gets stuck on the last button and it gets painful, almost like a tooth being pulled. When that happens, I get this bad boy out and I am good to go. I don't have long finger nails all the time because I do have a habit of.biting them so sometimes I can get it and other times I can't and even though I don't have trouble every time, it is worth it to have these for when I do. The size is perfect, as it's easy for me to use despite my long fingered, large hands, yet it's small enough to fit in my Invisalign case. Also since there are two, I keep one at home in my bathroom med cabinet and the other in my Invisalign case that I carry in my toiletry bag, which of course, I carry with me all the time since I do brush or at the very least use mouthwash everytime I eat anything or drink something that isn't clear. I absolutely recommend these if even on rare occasions, you have trouble removing your Invisalign.

Dignified way to remove retainers!
There is only one spot on my bottom retainer that will lift to allow removal. It's the very back of my left back molar. My nails are natural and too flexible to do the job. I was putting both hands in my mouth, hooking both thumb nails under the inner and outer edges of that far back molar and carefully lifting up. Once it released, with thumb and forefinger, I'd carefully peel the retainer off my teeth, also pulling out a trail of saliva. So gross and embarrassing! With the Ortho Key, I just hook it under the farthest back edge of the retainer, gently lift to release, then quickly and carefully lift in two more places along the inside edge, making my way to the front of my mouth. Once I get there, one more pull on the inside edge behind my front teeth and the retainer pops out. No more cramming both hands in my mouth, chipping nail polish, or drooling. No fear of breaking my retainer, and no discomfort! The only complaint is that's it's slightly too long to fit in my retainer case. I have to hold it in place at an angle to close the lid. I with it were just a little shorter so it fits easily with no fuss. I think if one were to find the right technique, this tool could assist in anyone's retainer removal.

Expensive but works well
Title says it all. Itโs expensive relative to what Iโm sure it cost to make. But it works. I was having trouble removing trays without it.

everyone needs this
I was contemplating on this little tool for a while because I could remove my trays without it. However, after using it, I wish I bought it sooner. It makes removing trays so much faster and easier. The hook is very dull and I can see how it is designed to do the work without hurting you. Overall would totally recommend for everyone who is having Invisalign! I think this tool should be included in the set or given out for free like elastic and chewy. Because I think everybody needs it.

Time Saver, Works Awesome!
Got my Invisalign Fri, July 5th. Ordered this the next day to arrive on Mon. In the meantime I had to use my dental pick to remove them each time. (Fingernails don't do the trick, especially if they're weak like mine). Using the dental pick was HORRID! Could barely get it to back of my mouth, plus cut the inside of my mouth a few times to the point it bled pretty good. Couldn't wait until Mon. for the Orthokey to arrive! Received it on time and THANK GOD! This tool EASILY removes them plus fits perfectly in my Invisalign case that came with my kit. I'm ordering another one today so I'll always have one at home & one in my purse for outings. A lot of people don't realize how frustrating it is to remove these everytime you want to eat or drink anything (besides water). I'm removing them 6 times a day as I'm diabetic and eat small meals throughout the day. This tool certainly lessens some of that frustration by making it easier/quicker to get the Invisalign out. Kudos to whoever came up with this idea!

A must have for press on nails.
I am so glad I found this brand. It's a better price and very helpful to remove my overnight aligners whenever I have press on nails on.

Little sharp
The end is a little sharp and it would be better if the hooks were on both ends

A God Send !!! don't pass it up.
2 weeks of having my envisalign. I broke my nail and I found it very difficult to remove the aligners without pulling and adding more tension to the teeth making them sensitive. This tool is a god send no more struggles. It's easy to use and will definitely make the experience more enjoyable. Already my teeth are feeling less sensitive and I feel more relaxed.
