A…** A: Rebecca, I have a doxy 11 mos. old, and she only gets her Yak bones once a day, only for 15-20 mins. She has a very strong jaw, and I have had to change to a medium bone for her. I tried to heat the bones after they get to be 1 1/2" in size, but she just doesn't seem to want them that way. So I ditch them. I keep her "chewed" bones in an open container, so they dry out each day. I also make her stay near me while she chews, as I want to watch her and make sure she doesn't get anything caught in her throat. They stay good for along time, but one of them had a black mark inside it I noticed. When she got down to it, I took it away and tossed it. I do not know what it was, but I didn't like it.
