By old I mean 12 years old. I clean it regularly and it works fine. Only thing I've never done is replace the thermal paste. Since the last clean the cpu fan became noisy, the original paste had completely dried up and was all but residue so the heat transfer to the heatsink was poor. Remedied that this morning after receiving this product yesterday. Works as intended, cpu fan is now super silent once again instead of going full bore. Also like the fact that this is not a one-shot product as many of the other ones for sale are and for less cost than the one-shots.
