I tried multiple methods of cutting my light defusers & ruined 3 before getting this one. Patience & pressure cuts were the trick with this affordable option. Wish I'd gotten it first! Review: awkward working angle - This is a sturdy, easy to handle tool I bought to cut a 3/16" acrylic sheet. Howeer, I used it to cut 1/4"material and this was really too thick to use this tool with so it took many passes to cut a groove deep enough to snap. If you don't hold it precisely perpendicular to the workpiece it will tend to slip out of line. Another major fault was that I had to hold it uncomfortably close to parallel to the surface of the work material to get that satisfying screech that tells you you're cutting. A slightly more acutely raked tooth on the end would allow the handle to be held at a greater angle to the workpiece in a more natural hand position. I will say it makes a fairly clean groove in the plastic, and after a few strokes, it stays in the groove.
