Can 1 core set + 2 hero character packs work for six players or do I need 2 core?** A: You need two base sets or you can play the 6 player team play variant included in the base rules. With all 5 character packs you could play 5 players with the base set or add a 6th boss deck. Honestly though, most people would agree the game plays best at 2 and every player beyond that is less recommended. **Q: Do I need two of these core decks to play with 4players, like in star realms? This fantasy themed version of the Star realms game engine, takes it up a level. If you like fantasy based settings card games and like the star realms game play then buy this NOW!I have already bought the Fighter Wizard and Ranger add on character decks and they really add extra to the game. The 10 or so play through s with the base set are tricky too win if your starting cards are not falling for you. However with the Character packs it gives a bit more edge to your play if you like a certain character.The add on packs are definitely not needed to really enjoy the game but they add to an already excellent well balanced deck building game.Love this me and my 12 year old son have played it regularly since its been bought. Star realms is getting a bit of dust since we bought it. But it will be back no doubt.5 stars easy would give more if I could. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Game, Most played game in my house *by P***E on 16 June 2020* This game was an instant hit in our house. Generally, we are picky with games but this was extremely easy to learn and quick to play. Due to its size it is extremely portable and the short nature of the game averaging around 15 mins per round means you can fit it in anytime.The art is great, the box is perfectly sized to fit the cards and accommodates any additional characters pack you may want to purchase. We have since bought the wizard and ranger characters packs and they were a great addition. Star realms are made by the same publisher and depending on your interest in fantasy or space will decide which way you go. I have found this to be better balanced even though my wife seems to always win. I would recommend this for anyone new to board games. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great game *by T***N on 30 November 2018* This has become one of my favourite games, as it is close to the "easy to learn, hard to master" sweet spot. That means that it's easier to find people to play with than for more complex games, but you can enjoy some really varied gameplay and strategies. One recommendation - use one of the many score-keeping apps you can get for your mobile phone rather than the supplied scoring cards, which are the only weak point in the design of the game.
