GROHE 30189000 | Ambi Kitchen Tap

My old kitchen mixer tap had starting dripping quite badly after only a few years. I thought it would probably be cheaper to buy a new tap than get someone in to fix the old one, so I decided to spend more money this time in the hope that the new one would last longer.I'm not great at DIY, but if something can just replace the old one without pipe cutting etc., I'll give it a go.The only tools I needed were an adjustable wrench to undo the nuts to the water supply (couldn't find a spanner that fit in my tool kit) and a box spanner which I had from last time I did this (generally less than a tenner from Amazon). The box spanner is a sort of extended spanner which allows you to undo the main nut behind the sink which holds the tap in place (and do up the nut on the new tap). You might need some PTFE tape to save leakage on the nuts.First thing was to turn off the water at the stopcock.I had to remove the sink waste pipes as they were in the way - I did a 'fly-by' video on my phone of the under-sink set-up before I started. This can be useful when you're putting things back together. I took some time to clean out the waste pipes as they were full of detritus.It's a good idea to put some bowls and towels down to catch spillages.Surprisingly, things went very smoothly - it mentions on the item description that adapters are need to join onto the water pipes, but I didn't need them. When you attach the tap to the sink, you can't see what you're doing, but it was fairly straightforward anyway. The instructions weren't great. A diagram seemed to refer to a collar that I didn't have, so I wondered if the instructions were for a different tap - but it didn't seem to matter.Once installed, the tap looks great. The spout rotates very easily, as do the levers which turn on the water - I like that, as if your hands are dirty, you just need to nudge them to turn the water on.So, very pleased overall - I hope it lasts.

Changed all taps to Grohe that i think is good quality for price despite cutting a few corners - IMHO there are better makes burt a lot more money.This tap is easy to install, long tails/pipes with G1/2 end that you can even 'bodge' onto 15mm before getting proper adapters. Does include 3/8 adapters too. Looks good, so far works well.I prefer this 2 lever over the 3D mix+volume cheaper versions, also easier to replace single cartridge and turn water off for just hot or cold rather than both.You can adjust turn radius so that you don't turn it over drying area.But tails are perhaps 10mm bore so really needs high pressure - if kitchen is ground and water tank loft 2 storey you can get away with gravity fed but not ideal.Still if you have reduced flow valves, consider changing to full bore for better pressure even with the thin tails. Will do that myself next as system is gravity fed.

I don’t usually write reviews but when I buy something of quality and as good as this (at the moment!) I feel I need to.To start with, delivery was super quick.Tap was boxed as expected and undamaged.To address other comments regarding fitting the tail ends to uk fittings, mine came with the correct size (whatever that is, I’m not a plumber!) and I just attached them to the existing isolator valves. I fitted it myself very quickly and it fits better than my previous which was a good quality tape and feels much more robust due to a plastic spacer that fits under the sink. The action is really smooth and the design is stunning and easy to clean. Hopefully it lasts!

Great product well made

Absolutely great. Looks really smart and straight forward to install. About 90 minutes to remove old and fit new for a DIYer due to kitchen sinks being so damn awkward! My son held the tap in place so I could fit all the bits underneath. I chose due to Which review liking the brand and I’m glad I did!

to me its an essential tap, to the plumber who recommended and come and fit it, they are the best thing since water got piped.maybe they are a plumbers dream to fit i don't know, but i mostly go on recommendations, it looks really smart, and a quality thing, there's loads cheaper out, but whats that saying? 'you get what you pay for' plus this was 25 quid cheaper than screwfix price. delivery was quick 3 days.

My twenty-year-old Blanco tap was dripping, flaking and corroded, so I phoned my plumber asking him to .recommend a replacement. He explained that my Blanco sink would accommodate taps from other makers too, and suggested that I should phone our local plumber's merchant and (if I could afford it) buy a Grohe. The merchant wanted £200; Amazon charged less then £70. Guided by Amazon reviewers, I also ordered the widgets that are needed to connect a German tap to British pipework (I chose those listed as Hansvit K91210 European Flexible Tap Tail UK Adaptors Compression Fittings 15 mm x 3/8-inch Bsp Standard Isolating Valve Brass.)I was tempted to try to fit the tap myself, but I'm jolly glad I didn't. My (good, I think) plumber took three visits and four hours to get everything working properly - the trouble wasn't with the tap, it was that he'd had to remove and reassemble the sink outflow, and that he had to fix a couple of slow leaks of waste water from plastic joints..I've been using the tap for a year without problems. It's feather-light smoothness makes it the nicest tap I've ever come across; I'm pleased to be able to turn water on with my wrist when my hands are especially grubby. I imagine that its wonderful ergonomics would be a blessing to anyone disabled.

Küchenarmatur kam schnell und wurde gleich verbaut. Leider tropfte der Hahn im 10 Sekunden Tackt.Für die Reklamation wurde ich direkt an Fa. Grohe verwiesen.Prompte Erledigung durch den Kundendienst. Super bin vollumfänglich zufrieden.Wärmste Weiterempfehlung.

Final evaluation:Once I sent the previous broken faucet back, I ordered another one of the same type. In this case the faucet received was OK. The assembly was very easy. Operation is absolutely smooth and comfortable. We appreciate this product much.Original evaluation:One lever of the water supply faucet swayed as a result of the broken plastic wheel on which it is fixed on. Sent back immediately. Big disappointment.
