Absolutely Awesome classic

This is best one apart from the first of course

This has got to be one of the best movies of this type (syfi/action/horror) excellent cast and storyline, when you think it's going to end it surprises you again, I like the special edition as I feel it enhances the original cut, I cannot recommend this highly enough for anyone who hasn't seen it yet. I have watched this many times over the years and still enjoy it just as much as the first viewing.

Good film came well wrapped

Got the DVD with the two versions - the first cinema outing and the longer one with the turret guns, so I wasn't at first going to bother 'upgrading' to Blu Ray, something I had always said I would not do. Good God, I had this on VHS once! Anyway just a few scenes were enough to demonstrate that even a film of this age could be revamped on Blu Ray. The scene with Gorman monitoring the marines from the transport as they battle the aliens has some close ups of the actor (William Hope) and it is staggering the amount of detail right down to the sweat dripping off his face. Great sound, good pounding bass to Horner's soundtrack. Perfect 'version' of this film for the nerd like me. Pointless reviewing the film, you like it or hate it: To me it was a better 'ride' than the first and tragically followed by two that seem more dictated by Weaver and some poorly chosen directors. Ridley Scott and Cameron will always have made the best Alien movies and it's probably better to ignore the others. Interesting to Google the actress that played 'Newt' - she made this film and nothing else, and is now a teacher in the US, although she sometimes goes along to conventions.

Such a brilliant film Aliens, both the original 1986 version and the extended 1991 version here revel fantastic picture quality on blue ray.

Great sequel to the original but much better (in my opinion) and now on Blu ray in HD. Recommended 👍 Purchase

Le premier Alien jouait à fond la carte de l'angoisse et des scènes chocs devant une créature presque indestructible, une arme parfaite. Ce deuxième épisode sans être vraiment inférieur au précédent est différent dans sa démarche, moins de pression et de sentiments de malaise et plus d'action. Evidemment on peut s'interroger à voir le nombre d'Aliens dégommés aussi facilement alors que dans le premier film, l'héroïne avait eu tant de mal à se débarrasser d'un seul. Si on fait abstraction du premier opus, cet épisode s'avère séduisant et on ne s'ennuie guère aux sons des pétarades et des Aliens qui succombent (des humains aussi, je vous rassure).

DVD was fine, but due to the entire case being shipped in a "soft package" the DVD case was damaged.
