I wanted to allow the PS3 to have Gigabyte access to the BT hub so I chose this equipment. I could have easily managed with fewer ports but the extra cost for 8 ports was not significant and the power save function that switches off unused ports means that the larger device remains cost effective to run, and of course allows for future expansion. The TG-S82g was very easy to install. I simply plugged everything in and switched on and it worked. (I followed the rule to switch on the device nearest the Router first and then connect and power up other devices in turn. ) The Switch seems to be robustly constructed, it does not get hot and it has been running now for some months without incident. No restarts or noticeable glitches. Well priced, well made, and it does what I wanted.
