It seems very robust and worked perfectly on the mashed potato, but not used it on ice cream yet, so don't know how it copes with that. Great little gadget and would recommend it. Review: Multi use - This item is not only great for serving ice cream but is the perfect size for portioning thick batters/cake mix for large muffins. Using it for filling large muffin cases is much easier and cleaner on the tray than using 2 spoons. Besides this the muffins are much more evenly sized.
