I bought this on a Monday morning after trying to do some work on my laptop from my external Samsung HDD only to find my connection between the HDD & laptop constantly dropping out. Having a quick look online I found this cable, it was cheap, the right size and I could get it delivered the same day. Ordered it and sure enough, several hours later it turns up on my door step. Took it out of the packaging and the first thing you notice is simple the thickness of the cable, the thickness of this cable is nearly double that as the standard Samsung cable, this cable is much more steadier than it's OEM equivalent. Each end of the cable is gold to give it a better connectivity & once connected at both end's it has a strong connection and will not become disconnected from a simple nudge or moving it at all. Must say this is a premium feeling & quality cable for a great price!

Having recently had a hard drive crash, I looked over the potential causes. Windows 11 does not help with connecting and safely running external hard drives - however, manufacturers of hard drives etc will be aware of this, and should have upped the durability testing / manufacturing accordingly. Having previously replaced cables, I had previously reluctantly accepted, that the narrow plug and fitting on modern usb supply cables / supplies means that the connection would not feel as sturdy as I would like. Now this has been sorted! I can honestly say I was very pleasantly surprised at the precision, strength and hold of the plugs on these new cables within my usb drives, and I thought, why had this not been done before? I guess the cable industry / suppliers may have been chastised as being part of the problem of crashing hard drives, and upped their game. Whatever the background, I would suggest *do* upgrade your usb cables if you ever suspect unsturdy connection to usb devices - as you don't want to be caught with an out of warranty product connected by an old cable going wrong, believe me. The relatively small expense (compared to the cost of the devices one connects using the cables) is a worthwhile expense, no doubt at all. Essential.

I purchased this to replace a faulty cable that I had with an external USB3 hard drive. The first thing that came to mind when I received the item is the excellent quality of the cable, which has a really nice weighty cable. Coupled with its gold-plated terminals, it feels like a really durable and long-lasting cable so I’m glad I’ve purchased this. It’s definitely a USB3 as I’m getting the expected data transfer speeds I expected on my 7200 RPM SATA III external hard drive. It’s only been a few months since purchase so time will tell, but if URGREEN’s other products give me the positive impression that this does, then I’ll be buying more of their stuff in future.
