    Off to a promising start with the first story, full of dark humour, bathos and sensitive moments. But I soon tired of the dreary dream like tone and narrative. Shame because there is the odd moment of genius and I love stories about women written without cliche. But this just got annoying. They were all a bit samey and I lost interest. Makes you realise how hard it is to write a meaningful short story. I can see what she was trying to do and it’s commendable but the characters just didn’t draw me in enough.
