I bought some for my child and have used them on his walking boots and track suit trouser drawstrings and they are effective. There is some slippage on laces if you pull them, however that may be the same for any of these as they are smooth plastic after all. Try crossing the laces and then putting the cord lock on or applying two sets of toggles to each shoe (which is what I did) and that works a treat. I would recommend them.
