Review: You get what you pay for and this is quality - I bought this to cut down some carbon fibre handlebars for my mountain bike and it cut through them like a hot knife through butter with no problems whatsoever, there wasn’t any rough edges on the bars either, well impressed but I’m surprised with it being Park Tool, I have found their products to be high quality 👍

I recently used it to trim the steering tube on my new road bike build, and the difference between this and a standard metal hacksaw blade is night and day. Here’s why I’m impressed: • Clean Cuts: It cut through the carbon like butter. No splintering, no fraying, and most importantly, no jagged edges that require a ton of sanding afterward. • Precision: Because it’s designed specifically for carbon, the blade doesn’t "jump" or skip when you’re starting the cut. It bites in immediately and stays on track. • Heat Management: It didn't seem to generate excessive heat, which is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the carbon resin. • Durability: Even after the cut, the teeth (gritted edge) look brand new. I could easily do another dozen forks with this. Pro-tip: I used a bit of masking tape around the cut line and a drop of water to keep the dust down, and the result was shop-quality.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does it work well for cutting standard alloy handlebars, or does a standard blade work better for alloy?  Would cutting alloy damage this blade?**
A: I would recommend a standard metal cutting blade for aluminum. This blade has abrasive material bounded to it that would come off quickly trying to cut metal. It lasts a long time cutting carbon and other softer materials.

**Q: Can this blade be used with any other ordinary hacksaw? or the blade only fits Part Tool hacksaw?**
A: You can use it on any hacksaw, I picked up a regular one from Ace hardware and this blade fits in it just fine.

**Q: Will this blade work with any miter box?**
A: This blade is slightly thicker than a traditional hacksaw blade, so it requires a miter saw that has the correct spacing. Park Tools sells specific miter boxes to fit both types of blades. I imagine other companies do also.

**Q: Can this be used to cut carbon arrows?**
A: I am no fletcher but I know a little carbon composites. When I cut bicycle steer tubes It works very well. However that is with a commercial saw guide which insured a perfectly straight cut. Perhaps you can improvise something to keep the saw blade at a perfect right angle to the carbon rod. Good luck!
