They still smell pleasant; I imagine the only reason they wouldn’t is if they were left damp for extended periods. The package came with 3 white balls and 3 light gray balls. They were bigger than I expected, a little larger than a baseball. These work great! Dry clothes faster and his dress shirts weren't even a smidge wrinkled when I pulled them out at the end of the cycle. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love the Balls *by G***D on 11 April 2017* A friend suggested wool dryer balls after I developed a skin irritation (she believes dryer sheets are poison). I was worried about loud banging in my dryer (my dog barks at every noise) and the smell from wet wool. Neither are an issue! I've used three balls in multiple medium loads without any additional noise. And as far as smell, I haven't noticed any. Now before my first load, I added a few drops of essential oils to the balls. But that was five loads ago and I still don't smell anything. Very, very pleased with this purchase that I bought another set this week so I can have six of each color for large loads. And I haven't had any static cling (my big fear of ditching dryer sheets, I was worried about static if I dried without the sheets). And no lint residue thus far. And drying time has way improved but that could also be to me cleaning the dryer vent to outside.
