But if you use an external power source when the power goes off it does not automatically power back on. I just connected it to a 5V phone charger, it works. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent value - a real friend *by T***C on 24 August 2024* I've been using my player for just over a year, since an unexpected event took away a lot of my vision and reading printed books became difficult. The player has been absolutely reliable and has been a "God-send". Easy to use with just a couple of things to note; the volume has to be reset each time the player is turned on - even when halted to insert a new disc, and after pressing the "play" button it takes probably 10/15 seconds for the audio to come on stream. ( If you just pause play the volume remains as set and the audio is there on pressing play again.) Book marking works OK if you need to skip back or forward. I use high capacity rechargeable AA batteries and they give good playing time. Wouldn't want to be without my player now.
