How long is the total length of the strap from where it joins the camera?

Dear Customer, Thanks for your question, length of the main webbing part is 75cm.the length of each side nylon webbing is 30cm,it can be adjustable.

What is the little leather and rings that come in a small bag with the strap what do they do and where do you put them

its so you can adapt to your camera fitting some people have fitted rings then the stram if the slot is not big enough.

Work with canon powershot sx510 please?

I don't know the sx510 but looking at pictures of it, I think it should fit. The strap is about 10 mm (1 cm) wide at the part that fits through the camera strap rings, and the rings themselves are about 12 mm (possibly 12.5 mm, which is half an inch). If the strap rings on the sx510 are the same size, then it'll fit.
