I’ve used this product for the last few years of owning my fish tank. I use both Prime and Pristine whenever I add new water to my tank. Regarding foam filters, I have only ever given my sponge filter a very good rinse in clean water and then put them in my fish tank. I’ve never had any problems with doing it this way during the last 5 years or so.
