Provides excellent aluminium protection against galvanic corrosion. **Q: will this work on carbon steel blades ?** A: Hi, it will certainly inhibit corrosion on carbon steel. Without knowing the function of the blades, can't say if the the soft film laid down will have any material impact on the blades' functionality. Would probably depend on the film thickness applied. **Q: Can this be used to protect your BBQ?** A: Short answer is yes. If it's for protection over the winter and you are coating parts on which you cook then you'll want to remove the film on that area before you use it for cooking again. A light solvent like white spirit will remove the film. If it's for non-cooking parts, then there is no reason to remove it, other than cosmetic. If you want a thinner film, just wipe down or buff the product on the metal surface. The bond the product forms with the surface will still provide excellent levels of protection. Hope that helps. John Reeves. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Protected my motorbike well over winter *by A***R on 1 May 2020* East to apply and protects bike very well. I have only applied to engine, exhaust and metal parts, others advise to cover the whole bike but i find this excessive and a waste of product, especially on plastic parts. It does take a while to dry and can collect debris in this time, but don't worry! Through winter I rinsed my bike weekly then cleaned thoroughly when needed and reapplied XCP. When you clean the bike,the XCP film takes a bit of effort to fully remove, which i see as a good sign, the surface beneath is like new.
