Needed a rechargeable D cell, with this convertor my eneloop AA can be used as D, happy days. Also worked with some other brands of AA I had in my collection, but matches the eneloop style, so prefer to keep them matched. AA simply plugs into center of convertor, and good design because it gently clips in holding it steady and in place while you plug the D into the device. Swapped my AA many times and still working well, so well built. Of course the rechargeable AA will not last as long as long as a good rechargeable D, but then is somewhat cheaper to purchase. By good D I mean the ones with high mAh capacity, as compared to some brands with low mAh capacity which are cheaper. Best of all I get to use my intelligent AA charger and don't need to purchase a D charger. What I really need is a very high mAh capacity AA, but 2700 maH is my highest ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent concept and great for me... *by E***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 August 2012* ...because I've a shed-load of rechargeable AAs - but no similar C/D batteries, or a charger capable of charging them.This is a genius idea - simply encase an AA battery in a sheath that bloats it to D size. The words of caution I would give are around the amount of charge that an AA can supply when compared to a genuine D battery. You will *probably* not get the same duration of performance. I combat this by always having lots of charged AA batteries and a small screwdriver to hand.My son has just got some track-master trains that take C size cells, so I'll definitely be getting a few of those size adapters too.Really good little product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great Idea but... *by L***D on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 February 2013* Unfortunately they don't work in my maglite torch. The spring that connects to the -ve end is too big to connect to the small AA eneloop -ve end. So I'll have to get another brand of actual D sized rechargeables to work in this torch.
