Review: Lovely keyboard - UPDATE (1/7/19): Looking back on my initial review, it's pretty clear that I didn't really know what I was talking about. Since then, I've done a fair amount of research in the field, and have learned a lot about mech keyboards in general. I now own another keyboard that has BOX Jades as switches. It's loud, clicky, and a bit heavy. When compared to this Niz keyboard, it'd almost be accurate to say that they are total opposites. I like the niche fun and sharpness of the jades, but they're hardly optimal for day-to-day tasks-- at least for an extended period of time. For general everyday use and gaming, I definitely prefer the silent, light feel of the Niz's 35g capacitive switches. It's non-invasive, easy to use over a long period of time (I have never felt fatigue using this keyboard), and also sounds like the light pitter-patter of rain when used for stretches of typing. It has the same great soothing feel as Topre keyboards, but is much lighter and softer. If you're a fan of clicky or otherwise more responsive switches, you might find the excessively light feel of this keyboard to be a bit too "hollow" for your taste. And that's perfectly fine. Sometimes, you just need that extra bit of oomph in your life. However, if you're on the lookout for a keyboard that can serve as the perfect zero-resistance extension of your mind into the digital world, I cannot recommend this keyboard and its siblings enough. They're honestly gamechanging. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ Initially, the weighting was a bit off-putting, but I've grown to adore this keyboard. I personally find the model quite pretty, and it feels great to work with on a regular basis. The stock keycaps are a bit on the lighter side though, so if you're into heavier weight, I'd suggest looking around for replacement keycaps. Can't say how this model compares to topre keyboards, but having switched from generic red-switch mechs, I can say that I was genuinely pleased with what I got.
Review: Love this keyboard - Love this keyboard. I use it mostly for gaming. The low actuation force combined with the normal 2mm actuation point actually feels better to me than my keyboard with speed switches. It's also very quiet. Not completely silent, but it's quieter than my other keyboards with red/silver switches plus o-rings and it also has a lower pitched sound that's less annoying late at night. It's also great for typing. There's also software that lets you map keys to media controls and other functions. I can't really think of any cons other than it'd be nice if it was backlit and if there were more options to play around with the actuation point (like changing it to 1mm) would have been nice.

## Features

- [HIGHT-SPEED CLICKING FEEDBACK, LOW DAMPING] The main scanning time of clicking is up to 0.4-0.6 millisecond. Once scanned, data will be sent to the host in a flash (equal to USB refreshing rate). The damping of every single is ultra low because of the unique self-lubricated structure, which will makes the typing extremely soft and comfortable. Besides, with patent of non-soldering hot-plugging static switch, no need to worry about the problem of elastic attenuation of your keyboard.
- [IMPORTED THICKER PBT KEYCAP - DURABLE & SILENT] The whole moving parts of NiZ EC84-S are from POM of Polyplastics, with very low static and dynamic friction coefficient, you can get excellent smoothness from any input angle without using any grease. Completely silent structure design, built-in silica gel cover to maximally decrease the noise of typing.
- [ELECTROSTATIC CAPACITIVE SWITCH KEYS] Different from mechanical keyboard and membrane keyboard, NiZ EC84-S is a electrostatic capacitive keyboard whose triggering is from the change of capacitance value made by the conic spring. Therefore, theoretically it doesn’t have life limitation, it’s extremely durable. With the cold light laser character on every single key, its using life will far beyond your expectation.
- [35g PRESSURE - FOCUS MORE ON YOUR HEALTH] The pressure grams of NiZ EC84-S keyboard is 35g. Under this pressure, any long time working or gaming will not cause organic damage to the joints, which concentrates much more on the user’s joint health.
- [FULL ANTI-GHOSTING, ENTIRELY PROGRAMMABLE] NiZ EC84-S is a electrostatic capacitive keyboard with full anti-ghosting design. Just pressing keys as many as you can to do a test. You can customize all keys' function with the software provided ( windows OS ), trigger distance and sensitivity can also be debugged.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Feels Scratchier than the NiZ EC87 - Pretty Sad.
*by J***N on 17 December 2018*

I purchased this after feeling how lovely the NiZ EC87 felt, but immediately upon opening the box and pressing the keys, I realized that they weren't even *remotely* as smooth as the 87-key counterpart. I'm going to assume that this is an inconsistency brought upon by less lubing on this particular model, but it just feels kind of unpleasant after having the pleasure of using the EC87. People who try out this board definitely won't have the same experience than if they were to try with another model - which is both really weird and unfortunate. Like why? One of the reasons why I liked this company's approach to electrocapacitve switches in comparison to Topre was how much more smooth they felt. This is just weird. The keyboard itself seems okay - the construction is solid and the keycaps are PBT and cherry profile; there are various combinations with the function key that I have no qualms about (but I'm not the sort of person who makes much use of them in the first place - I just like swapping Caps Lock and Left Ctrl), so it would be unfair to give this a star rating below 3 in my view.
