You just hold the tube and pull out the string slowly with an anti clockwise motion to uncoil the paper. The paper is highly gooey and sticky. It comes with a tack(drawing pin) to secure it in place but I couldn't use this in my poly greenhouse, so I looped the top over the wire frame and secured it with an old clothes peg. It worked great. Within a day I had caught most of the flies. I will just keep replacing these as they become full. In just FOUR days all three papers were encrusted with defunct flies. I counted 73 'bodies' (shudder!) on just ONE paper in just ONE day, and made a rough estimate as to the other two... Serious serial elimination! SECONDLY: Have just placed an order for 2(more) x packs of 10 - that proves how efficient I find them... A friend will be bringing them over for me as, unfortunately, no delivery available to Portugal.
