You have to press on a fragile blue tongue below the box to get it open. **Q: I just bought a 0.5 pencil and it linked to these refills, but these are 2mm? Is this right or should I search for 0.5 lead?** A: If your pencil is 0.5mm then you need 0.5mm leads. The 2mm leads are bigger, more like ones you would find in a real pencil. I have a number of pencils ranging from 0.5, 0.7 to 2mm. You need to match the leads to the pencil. Each range usually offers HB B 2B etc Hope this helps. **Q: Silly question maybe, but how do you get the leads out of the case?** A: Push little blue tip at the back up space with a little tool such as a blunt knife or nail file. Cover will then move up and leads will come out - hope this helpsb **Q: A compass with seperate lead section. I do not know the refill size, but need some. 2mm just too small. Where can I get 2.1mm lead refills please?** A: If you know the manufacturer try searching for 'compass leads' on Amazon. I'd be rather surprised if they do 2.1mm. Most seem to be 2mm.
