Review: The best camper mat I've used - no ground chill penetrates through this, even when camping on frozen ground - I ordered this for year-round cycle-camping and touring. Having used other mats in the past, both closed-cell foam mats and self-inflating mats, I've found that when used on on cold damp or wet grass, during the night the cold penetrates through, particularly on the self-inflating mats. This mat, however, remains snug and warm beneath me whatever the weather and ground temperature, thus making it ideal for all night use. At 190x57cm, it is about 10cm longer than most other mats, 7cm wider and its 365g weight is up to 100g heavier than other backpacking mats. However, the extra 7cm width and length make every gram of this 100g worth the extra pedaling effort because the mat offers valuable extra room, if only for your arms at your side rather than resting them on the cold tent floor. After a day of cycling or walking, I want to be comfortable and enjoy a good night's sleep - and this mat is the best guarantee of being warm, cosy and comfortable. It is 5-season rated and can be trusted to not allow any chills to penetrate through from cold, damp or even frozen ground and can be used for camping all year round. Definitely recommended and I would choose no other.
