The size and weight make it small and lite enough to drop in a rucksack, even when weight & space are tight. Collapsed it's about the size of a cup saucer, weighing just 113g (2 Mars bars) and easily gives enough light to do most things indoors, let alone a tent. When inflated - which is the best idea EVER, it will easily give more radiant light than necessary in an average size garage, stairway or bedroom.After half a day in moderate sunlight it was going all night on the lowest setting and even after more than 12 hours with virtually no loss in brightness. I eventually got bored checking it and when found it had gone off, turning it towards a window for a few seconds enabled me to switch it back on, incredible! Being fully waterproof is an obvious bonus for use in the great outdoors and makes emergency water wings for river crossings if required (you may look a pillock though).Looking to buy more Lanterns for home emergencies and some smaller Luci ERMG's for the car, motorhome and rucksacks. Love them. ### ⭐ Not as good as the original *by S***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 August 2018* I purchased this lantern because 4 years ago we purchased the original one for camping so we thought about getting an additional one. This new lantern is not a patch on the original, it's a lot smaller, less LED's which makes it not as bright and where the older one had a clear plastic surrounding this one is opaque so the light that the three LEDs are producing is hindered and also after a full charge it doesn't last as long either. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Useful lantern. *by M***F on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 May 2014* Light in weight, collapses down to approx 1 inch, bright light, hanging strap, looks great. Have already used it for the under stairs cupboard. It will be coming camping with us this summer, but I think will also be gracing our seating area at the bottom of the garden. The light is quite bright, as the plastic is clear there is no diffused gentle glow, but didn't want that anyway. Will be great for the next power cut too.
