You'll want to have the right ratio of powder to water based on your form/mold **Q: Can I use this for Lost Wax casting?** A: I can not positively answer yes or no, but from what I do know, I really think the answer would be, yes. I have not used it for that, but I have viewed someone cast a piece of metal jewelry at a festival. The mold looked just like the plaster ceramics molds I make from this plaster. I didn't ask him. You can only use the mold once as it is shattered when it is thrown into a bucket of water to quench the heat from casting. It would be imperative that you have the proper centrifugal cast equipment / set up to make sure the metal reaches the very bottom while still liquid. Good luck. **Q: Is this the same as hydro cal gypsum?** A: No. Hydrocal is a different mix. Same manufacturer though. **Q: Could this be used for pouring into a mold and then firing in a Kiln?** A: No this is not for a kiln firing. I did this on my one hour lunch break and it even dried within that time frame. I’m gonna give it a few more days to dry before testing it out with my clay. I have high hopes. It arrived in 2 separate deliveries in 12.5 pound bags (50 pounds total). I actually enjoy that they are separately packaged. I used one bag in a tub of water to make my board. I didn’t use exact measurements or anything kinda just eyeballed it cuz that’s how I roll. It’s been a few hours and it’s pretty dry.
