Some of our mugs get quite badly stained from all the tea that gets consumed in our house. I’ve always used sterilising liquid which was ok but it never got rid of all the stains and left a nasty aftertaste despite rinsing. Then I read about this product which got great reviews so I decided to give it a try. Despite the many five star reviews I was quite sceptical about how well it would work. Well, I can say now that this product on first use completely removed all the stains from all the mugs I tried it out on. My mugs actually look brand new! It is very simple to use - it’s just a tablespoon of the powder in a mug and then you fill the mug with almost boiling water, leave to stand for an hour or two and hey presto the stains have all vanished. It leaves no weird aftertaste either. I’ll definitely buy it again!

Gets the tea stains off inside of cups, exactly as described although care is needed as the powder once mixed with water, is corrosive. As stated on the box, protective gloves and eye protection is required when using the product.

I was quite sceptical how effective the product would be - I had a stainless steel travel mug with about 2-3 years of daily tea-stain built up. It was caked on and would not shift at all. It was quite an expensive mug from Bodum and was clearly marked as not being dishwasher-safe. Over the last couple of months during hot days the mug had got a little smelly, so I'd done a bit of research on methods including bleach, vinegar and bicarb I changed upon this on Amazon and seeing the glowing reviews I though I'd give it a try. I put one teaspoon of the remove into the mug with hot water and then resisted the temptation to check it for the next couple of hours. When I did, I poured out the mixture and most of the stains just poured out (and looked disgusting in the process). There was a ring left at the very top of the mug that just wiped clean. After a rinse I was amazed to see the mug looked as good as new. I then repeated later on the plastic top of the mug, which came out nearly perfect too. In summary, it does EXACTLY what it says it does and is brilliant value!

Thanks to all the highly positive reviews it seemed worth seeing if I too would be happily Astonished. Well, I have been. Particularly with one china mug which, despite almost permanent attempts to scrub and clean with otherwise brilliant 'Bar Keeper's Friend' resisted my efforts to create pristine unsullied gleaming. I suspect because I drink tea without milk that the tannins really attach, particularly to the junction between vertical and horizontal surfaces. My otherwise beautiful 'one of a kind' mug, a gift from a friend, looked horrid at those margins. So......half a teaspoon, as suggested, in the bottom, and hot (not boiling) water poured over, I left this in the sink and got on with other things. Came back, emptied the cup - and, my, it looks as if it has never been used. Finally I have found something which will mean white china stays white china. Curiously, I have lots of ceramic mugs and cups, and all of them seem to resist staining, and can be easily cleaned of any tannins. They are practical workhorses. The more expensive thoroughbred chinas have been a pain, - until now. All the chinas, and the teapots,(ceramic, glass, not to mention integral metal strainers) have rolled over and surrendered, and are now waving white flags. Now I know this works, I shall be buying in bulk in the future.

This really works and very quickly. I leave my teapots and mugs to soak and they are clean in just a few hours. Great product and I’ll be purchasing it again

I've been using the same stainless steel coffee mug for many, many years now. It developed a disgusting looking interior that just would not go away, no matter what I tried, or how hard I scrubbed it. But this magic powder had it looking brand new in next to no time - and with absolutely zero effort. I get being suspicious - I was too. But it's just as easy and as effective as others have said. Try it, trust me - you will not regret it

I'm not sure this actually does anything that a little elbow grease and baking powder could not do. Not impressed with this or other Astonish products.

I was struggling to get the coffee/tea stains out of my bone china cups for weeks - scrubbing nonstop. This product worked wonders, my cups are now spotless. Excellent product.
