## Description

The Spin-Clean makes records clean, is easy to use and costs no fortune. Spin-Clean also makes cleaning vinyl records easier, the brushes scrub both sides of the record at the same time, rollers in the tank keep records safe from damage and the liquid draws debris from the record and to the bottom of the tank. Fast, easy and inexpensive, now there's no reason not to clean every record in your collection. Group test winner (Hi-Fi Choice Magazine September 2011) \"There is no question but that the Spin-Clean record washing system removes surface dirt and fingerprints...after processing about a dozen discs, the solution was clouded with tiny bits of dirt and the discs themselves looked much cleaner...if you have some very dirty discs, the Spin-Clean record washing system is certainly a It is cheap and it is real. I cleaned some dirty, fingerprint-encrusted records, and when I removed them from the vat, all the dirt and fingerprints were gone...not everyone wants to spend hundreds of dollars on a vacuum machine, and the Spin-Clean did the job!" -Michael Fremer, Stereophile, February 2010 Spin-Clean contains everything you need to get started: Record Washer 4 oz washing liquid (cleans up to 400 records!) 1 pair of washing brushes, 1 pair of washing rollers, 1 pair of dry cloths, easy to follow instructions (printed in the lid so you can't lose them!)

Review: It works! - I bought the Spin Clean after spending far too much time reading reviews on this record cleaner and the Disco Anti Stat. There's no doubt it's on the expensive side, although the unit is well made and robust. It is also essentially an unchanged design since first appearing on the scene in the USA back in the 1970's. Some would reasonably argue that this, in itself, is testament to a simple but effective product. Unlike some people who purchase these type of cleaners I have used the supplied cleaning fluid. I would suggest you read the pros & cons before deciding which way to go. There are all kinds of methods people use on the internet (Vinyl Engine being a good source of information) either with the supplied cleaning or their own concoction. I use de-ionised water (99p, if you're lucky, for 2.5ltr). The instructions state that to clean a record you rotate the record 3 times clockwise then 3 times anti clockwise in the unit. The general consensus of other users is that the more you spin the better the results, depending on the condition of the record I spin a record a minimum of 20 spins (10 x clockwise 10 x anti clockwise). I bought additional microfibre cloths to wipe the records after cleaning, I also purchased separately 2 x Disco Anti Stat drying racks which allows me to clean up to 16 records per session. Another view shared by many users is that rinsing records in clean water (not using the cleaning solution) is essential for the best results, to facilitate this I clean out the unit and refill with de-ionised water up to the level marker. I also rinse the cleaning pads under warm water (as per instructions) prior to reinsertion back into the Spin Clean. When rinsing I tend to do fewer spins perhaps 6 or 7 (both ways) and after quick wipe leave to dry before placing the records in new inner covers. There's no doubt the Spin Clean works and works well. The devil is in the detail and selection of which cleaning fluid to use (supplied, another brand or homemade is clearly a individual choice) This isn't a process to rush, the more time taken, the likelihood of better results. One final footnote; scratched records will remain scratched albeit cleaner!
Review: Effective, and worth the price - Was a little unsure if this would work but various reviews made me think it worth a try. I had been using spray and cloth cleaning which didn't quite do the job for some dirty vinyl. Used this, with the supplied cleaning fluid and it made a real difference. However, the 'three' times rotation I felt didn't quite do enough of a clean so added a few more turns for good measure which made a difference. Some have noted a residue after using the wash. So to make sure that the record was clean, after the wash and dry, I sprayed them with some distilled water and wiped off with a lint free cloth and left the records to air dry. When played, the difference is noticeable with improvement in clarity and reduction in clicks and pops. Wiping with distilled water also meant no residue was collected on the needle. So, overall an excellent product and more effective than the spray and wipe products on very dirty records. As I pick up records from second hand stores or other sources where the vinyl can be a bit dirty, it is recommended and it will also breathe some new life into your existing collection

## Features

- Finally... a Record Cleaning System Everyone Can Afford!
- Spin-Clean also takes the effort out of cleaning records, the brushes scrub both sides of the record simultaneously, rollers in the tank keep records safe from damage and the fluid pulls dirt off the record and down to the bottom of the tank.
- Quick, easy and reasonably priced, now there's no reason not to clean every record in your collection.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Effective, and worth the price

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Seems to do the job
*by J***N on 18 October 2020*

I had been pondering on buying the Pro-Ject VC-E, Compact record cleaning machine, the vacuum clean thing but at £329 i just couldn't justify buying as i don't have a massive amount of vinyl, certainly not thousands.I have a reasonable collection of vinyl though and a number of those were in need of a good clean.I decided to buy the Spin Clean MK 2 at a more affordable £81. I was quite skeptical that it would be any better than previous vinyl cleaning methods i've tried but felt like giving it a go.But it really does seem to work.I had a few 7" and 12" vinyl and a few albums that were just in an unlistenable condition.Gave them all a wash with the Spin Clean and now they are much, much better. They now sound pure and clean.Still a bit of crackle on some but i can accept crackle, it's just something you'll always , or often get with vinyl. What i can't accept with vinyl is a muddy or distorted sound. The Spin Clean has fixed all that muddy, & distorted sound. It really does work.Possibly a bit of extra groove noise at times after the clean but i'm not sure now if those particular discs had that noise before anyway, i didn't do a before and after test, should of really.Don't know what the magic formula is in the fluid but it, combined with the brush pads and the de-ionised ( i didn't have any distilled so used de-ionised) water really do clean the records well. £81 though, does seem rather more than you'd expect for a plastic trough, fluid, brushes and cleaning cloths and at one time before when i'd been a bit poorer there's no way i'd have spent that money .So yeah, a bit overpriced but i'm well happy with the results.
