The outer quilt feels soft and comfy. Unfortunately, for my lumbar back, it was way too thick and stiff. After 2 days I removed the extra 1” foam insert that was pre-cut by the company. It was still too thick and un-giving against my lower back. After 10 more days, I cut the inner foam piece using an electric turkey knife. It was easy. First, I cut the pillow down from 21” to 17” long so it would fit better on my office chair. Then I cut ½” off the flat back side to make it 3.5” deep. Finally, I sewed my own black suede covering on top.
