Review: Really nice bit of kit, i do recommend using an external antenna though - Really nice router, it does what it says on the tin, i am using it in conjunction with an external antenna (Poynting 4G-XPOL-A0001 Cross Polarised 4G Omni LTE Antenna) and it works much better with this, i.e. much better signal. it improves the signal by around 40-50% for me. If you want to run an antenna all you need to do is make sure the router is set to "External Antenna". then just find the best place to set it up. i was easily getting 16mbps with EE and without an external antenna i was getting about 5mbps, so worth buying one to go with this set up. it just shows you really can replace your home internet with a 4G connection. it really is a viable option (depending where you live and your provider). i would suggest getting some free sim cards and find out which one has the fastest speed for where you live or you may be disappointed with the speeds you get. I got about 5 different sims to see which one is fastest and low and behold it is EE for me. i bought this as i am moving to a new build soon and i dont want to pay line rental or pay to get hooked up via ADSL or fibre and pay stupid prices. i can get 200gb a month for £23 which is not bad, i dont use landline so its pointless paying for rental on that or paying £30-£40 for super fast broadband when i will really see little to no benefit from it (gaming uses little bandwidth) other than games will download faster and netflix will be slightly faster but it works fine on an 8mbps connection currently. this could be the way forward for me and once we have 5G, cable and fibre will be obsolete anyway (500mbps in some areas!), obviously i will need to buy a 5G router for that though as this router is not 5G compatible as far as i know. if you dont want to buy an external antenna the stock ones are okay. you will get slightly better signal than a mobile phone if you use the stock ones. The antenna i suggested does work really well with this router though, and you would be mad not to get one as it will dramatically increase the signal and therefore the speeds you get. i was sceptical as i bought the router and antenna and did not think i would get much of an increase using the antenna, but its about 40-50% better signal with it. as i said pick the right provider as one of our local providers masts is really close by but they throttle the speeds constantly meaning i get about 3mbps with them, which is terrible with full signal too. great bit of kit and i cant wait to use it when i move :) very nice design too and good quality.
Review: Works but not straight away on EE SIM - Ok so I got this device to use with an EE SIM card for unlimited internet. Nope! Didn’t work straight out the box as it should have. I then read other’s reviews and this has happened before. I should have read the reviews. I needed to download and update it but to do this you need a network port in your laptop... I’ve only got an iPad! Anyway, ended up having to get someone round to do all this for me and it was just a pain when I expected it to just work out the box with the SIM card in. So if you have an EE SIM, don’t get it. Once it’s up and running, it’s great. Internet is working. Good price. Not easy to use. I suppose had it worked with the sim straight away then it would be given 5 stars.

### ⭐ Keeps Rebooting
*by M***D on 28 May 2019*

I can only get on to the user interface either by wifi or Ethernet for between 30 - 90 secs, I did manage to get to the logs to find that an error had been found 5 times so "reboot module", not particularly useful if there are issues, the device actually connects and serves up a very good signal, then it reboots. I'll be sending it back. For the time I wasted I could have bought one a lot more expensive, I wish I had, as a temporary solution, I have a spare iphone, so I put my 4g card in that, created a personal hotspot on the phone, used a usb connector to my computer to share the signal. If you then look in Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network Connections you can bridge the iphone connection to your lan connection if you have one or you can go to your mobile hotspot and share the computers wifi, this has turned out to be a very successful implementation, the only drawback is that your computer and iphone have to stay on but otherwise a pretty fast setup. I have raised a ticket with their support but I have not had a response for over 2 days now. I am using Three for the 4g, the signal has been flawless. You need to have iTunes installed to get the driver for the iphone USB connection to work.
