Will this remote work for tv model UE65MU7070?

It should work for any Samsung tv. I use it with my Samsung smart monitor . Worked straight out of the box

Can you change the source/input/AV with this remote?

Yes you can. To access that, all you need to do is press the Home button, by completing this action a menu will pop up from which you can navigate to the source you want I.e HDMI, USB and others.

How do you put the volume down

To mute the volume completely you have press the volume button down. It'll click when you do this, and you'll see the muted icon on the TV.

The remote has a microphone but no alexa function? unless i’m just not realising how to activate alexa

Have not tried this, but my son-in-law says you can set up Google Assistant or Alexa on the TV. The remote just helps you use the functions, it does not have any superpowers of its own.
