I wanted to turn on 3 outside led bulbs at a set time and all of the digital electronic switches I found needed an earth and a resistor fitted. I just fitted this over the existing switch and, hey presto! Would recommend. Makes a slight whirring sound as roller moves over switch. Can be used with a single or double light switch. Would recommend. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Operates perfectly; concern over battery life *by S***B on 19 December 2017* The timer works well, and was easy to set-up and install. As it is a mechanical device, it will work with any type of light fitting, providing it has a "conventional" light switch. I had assumed that as this could be used with single/double/triple switches, it would be possible to program the different switches to operate at different times. However, although you don't have to operate all switches (by installing/removing the wheel mechanism that corresponds to each switch), all switches you've configured will operate together. The other reservation is that because this is a mechanical device, I suspect the life of the AA batteries will not last that long when it is in use, and when you change the batteries, you lose your programmed timers. A suggestion for the product inventor would be to include a small cell battery to keep the timer programmes stored, and just use the AA batteries for the mechanical movement.
