The autoglym brand has been a good brand for years, but I've often been put off by the prices. In this instance I desperately needed a quality product after a 5 hour drive to Norfolk during a heatwave, a week driving around Norfolk then a 5 hour drive back. Our white car had so many insect remains splattered about that you'd think someone had used a spray gun on it. The instructions on the bottle say spray on and leave for 30 seconds then wipe off. I tried this ..... BINGO it works brilliantly.

Helps to soften and remove bugs off front of car

I bought this to try and clean my motorcycle helmet visor. As advertised, it removed all the active insects with no problem at all! However, by the time I get around to cleaning the insects off of my visor most of the insects are pretty motionless, so I would recommend purchasing some inactive insect remover to finish off the job. I have attempted to assess the personality traits of insects collected from my visor to verify the claim that "Stubborn insect remains may require second application". I have so far been able to identify traits such as "twitchy", and "relaxed" but I have not yet found a way to accurately assess whether a given insect is "cooperative" or "stubborn".

Used on a mini that attracts a lot of splattered bugs. It doesn't really 'dissolve' the bugs in the way I was expecting, and I have to scrub quite a lot to actually get rid of them (no change using more spray). It's relatively expensive for what it does, so I'll probably go back to my previous solution - Dettol wipes - once I've used up the bottle. Wipes are cheaper and they've worked much better in my case.

I tried the Autoglym Active Insect Remover after a road trip across Europe, where the front of my car ended up covered in dead flies after bombing around the autobahns. This product worked quite well; it loosened the insects effectively, making them much easier to wipe off. Still needed a little bit of elbow grease but nothing compared to not using it. Overall, it’s a handy product to have if you’re dealing with a lot of insect buildup on your car. It does the job and saves you some scrubbing. I’m pleased with how it performed!
