For a square box it is attractive (I have the gold), and reflects an effort to apply design aesthetics. Fits the palm and hand grip perfectly.I rated the sound quality as 4 relative to its size. The sound of this speaker far exceeds any similar sized BT speaker I have encountered. I have not encountered another this small. As one might expect it does not reproduce bass well, though it appears that Anker have done some work to sculpt the lower-mid-tones to reflect the bass component of the recording, which itself is largely lost. Surprisingly it does not sound 'tinny' or thin, just limited bass. However, you do get a sense of the bass since this is cued in the mid-tones so that you supply it yourself. It is useful for listing to a range of music in a lot of indoor and outdoor environments, has reasonable volume without significant distortion, and can be carried everywhere in a small bag or even trouser pockets. It actually sounds good in a shirt or even a coat pocket.The range it reproduce extremely well is the range of the speaking human voice, male or female. It is now my constant companion for listening to podcasts and audiobooks everywhere I go where I can get away with not wearing headphones, which I dislike. It sits nicely on an anti-slide mat in the car, in my pocket, or on a surface. Because it is not artificially trying to simulate bass, only cueing it, the voice does not sound like it is coming out of a hole in the ground. It sounds like a voice. This also makes it work well for audio conferences. It is for personal use, where you are more or less near to the device.The life of a charge is claimed to be about 4 hours. That is probably at half volume, which is a bit too quiet unless you are using it at home. I get between 2 and 3 hours at about 0.75 volume, which is loud enough for outdoors use while walking or while driving. It is actually pretty loud at full volume.It has a single button for turning on/off, and skipping to the next track. You cannot force it into discovery mode once it is paired. To change devices you must either be away from the device it is currently paired with, or turn BT off on that device. It does remember past devices it has paired to. There is also no volume control ... you must do this on the audio source. This is a bit inconvenient, but not overly so.On balance, I love this speaker for vocal sources, which is as good as anything I have heard, and it is still very good for music, just not as good as a larger speaker. It sits on top of my plug socket charging and has a reassuring weight without being too much for your bag or pocket. As for using it, just press the rubber depress button on the back and lush over the activation sound..cool..then turn on your bluetooth, tap connect on your mobile or similar and press play: easy like a Sunday morning! You'll be surprised at the sound quality for the price. & though obvs it isn't sub-woofer loud you can happily 'take it to the bridge' with your moves like Jagger....Please make a rose gold but more copper version! It is very compact and portable, looks nice and great for casual listening.I wouldn't say it's suitable for blasting out tracks at a party (far from it) but rather for personal listening. If you did want something a little more punchy, go for the Anker Soundcore Mini.As far as I'm aware, the battery is sufficient. I would rate the durability a 3/5 since although it is made of metal, I would imagine scratches would appear quite easily.
