I almost returned this because the price felt like a risk. After a few sessions, I’m keeping it. Yeah, you can do most of these stretches with other stuff, but this makes it way easier and it just feels better on my body. The stretches feel deep but controlled, and I’m not messing around trying to get the setup right. It reminds me of the assisted stretches at StretchLab. Big win: I can use it while morning news, so I actually stay consistent and use it. It feels sturdy and well-made, not flimsy. It’s PRICEY, but it’s been worth it for me.

However, as someone who works in the physical therapy field, the added dorsiflexion for stretching got my interest, and I was curious enough to give it a try. While it’s true that many of these stretches can be replicated with proper movement, straps, and other tools, this product stood out to me in two key ways. First, the stretching experience itself, particularly for the hamstrings and calves, feels fantastic. The added dorsiflexion makes nerve gliding exercises significantly easier, requiring less active movement. I’ve also noticed that upper extremity stretches feel more effective, as the design provides greater leverage to really target and lengthen tissues. Second, and most importantly for me, is how effortless it feels to use. I’m someone who tries to stay limber but doesn't always feel like doing a full routine. With this device, I can get deep, passive stretches with minimal effort, even while watching TV. The best kind of stretching is the kind you can stay consistent with, and this tool has made it easier for me to work on my mobility regularly and see better results. The design and materials are top-notch, sturdy, well-constructed, and built to last, even under heavy resistance. Yes, it’s pricey, but it’s also made by a small, USA-based business, and quality labor doesn’t come cheap. With all that considered, I’m happy to say I’m keeping it and will be recommending it to others when appropriate.

I’m going to give this a proper review and address the Good, Bad and Surprises using CastleFlexx. I’ve seen their ads but wasn’t convinced to buy until I saw it being used by real athletes for recovery including the Ronald Acuna Jr. and Harrison Bader – these guys can afford the best and have chosen this as one of their key fitness devices. And given the Amazon return policy, nothing to lose. Let’s start with the BAD: - It’s by far the most EXPENSIVE in its category as compared to the alternatives (inexpensive ropes/bands or even a towel I suspect) - You can’t take it on an airplane because it’s a real 2lb solid bar - Handles are natural premium cork but delicate and not ideal for taking to the gym or if you travel a lot The GOOD: - It actually WORKS to provide the most complete stretch with little effort - You don’t even need to use your hands to stretch with it - wedge it into your biceps on both arms and just relax into various stretches - Great for upper body stretching which has been difficult for me in the past given lack of flexibility - It’s made in an ethical way without plastic and the device is robust – will outlast multiple purchases of cheap ropes/bands The SURPRISES: - The Flexxbar - as they call it - has a removable 2lb weight for full body strengthening and stretch assistance – it may seem light but when you are lying down it feels like someone is helping you stretch - The Flexx Lab – provides solid guidance on how to use the product with new content added regularly (better deal than going to a stretch boutique, chiro, etc.) The VERDICT: - This has been a game changer for my flexibility, no more pain getting up in the morning or exercising and has improved my golf/tennis game and will let me get back into martial arts (where flexibility is critical) - Easy to use and portable - it goes with me everywhere and I use it while sitting at my desk throughout the day between calls - Just getting started with the flexx lab which is top notch - Already down to a cost of mere dollars per use BOTTOM LINE: If you’re strapped for cash and don’t have major pain issues with your back, hip, leg or plantar fasciitis then a regular strap should do or even towel. However, if you can get comfortable with the price (realizing that you will probably spend the same amount buying multiple ropes, bands, etc.) this is the stretch tool to buy which will last forever.

This stretching device is the bees knees! I finally found a mobility tool that is easy, fun, and comfortable to use. My posterior chain is notoriously tight and difficult to get a quality stretch. It also can be painful. Therefore, I usually don’t prioritize stretching so I am inconsistent with it ultimately resulting in poor results. This quality tool is so comfortable to use and requires a lot less effort to get a good stretch as compared to other straps. For the first time in my life, I look forward to my stretching routines using my new Castleflexx!

The CastleFlexx is a very well-made piece of equipment. I like that this one piece of equipment has a variety of uses that help you to become more flexible and gain or regain your flexibility. This was my reason for purchasing. It is very high-quality in appearance, in hand, and through usage. It has a two-pound magnetic weight inside, which is very easy to remove if desired. The handles are made from natural cork, which makes the grip more comfortable. The presentation of the item during the unboxing was impeccable. It was packaged very nicely, noting that I often have a difficult time tossing boxes when it is well put together like this. I also like that they offer videos that show you how to use the CastleFlexx for a variety of body areas.

Former skeptic here... I took the plunge after spending $110 per co-pay at PT for tendinitis. I am SO GLAD I got this! I bought other bands and devices to avoid paying for a Castleflexx, but finally caved & l am SO GLAD I did! Don't waste your money or time using a towel or cheap imitations. I was surprised at how sturdy and well made the CastleFlexx is. The convenience and versatility of the CastleFlexx make it worth the price, but the quality and range of use set it apart from cheaper alternatives. My bulky pilates machine is now covered with laundry or pushed into a corner where it rarely gets used. I got the Luxury CastleFlexx with (removable) 2lb weight and I haven't stretched this much in two years. I wake up feeling great and not limping as I find my balance in the morning.

Just received mine, seems reasonably well made, although I have to question the longevity of the cork grips. Watched the intro video, used the device, nice calf stretch. Then I started looking to get a good handle on everything the product could do & explore all my options, so I read the little manual that comes with it (almost nothing in there). I thought there would be additional instruction on their "app", so I downloaded it. The so-called "app" appears to me to be nothing more than a marketing tool to get you to purchase a $139.00 annual subscription for their exercises. I am very suspicious of buying a subscription just to see other viable uses for this thing beyond a calf stretch. Then I went looking for instructional videos on their YouTube site. I got the same basic result as interacting with their "app". The few other stretches I saw briefly demonstrated in any of their materials looked pretty hokey to me. I tried one other set of their stretches (hip stretch), I was not impressed at all with the stretch. It seemed to me like the movement was just "window dressing" to make the device look like it provides more good stretching movements than it is really capable of. I have a feeling that the majority of the other uses promulgated for this device beyond a simple calf or hamstring stretch are just trumped up marketing fluff. These guys send a very greedy, massive BS vibe, in my opinion. The product appears to be ok for a calf stretch, but the organization, their collateral materials & many of their claims throw of huge red flags for me. Probably send mine back shortly, definitely not paying for any subscription.
