I inherited an old, early 90s bike with 2 flat tyres recently, and didn't want to spend a lot fixing it, just needed to get it on the road as a town runner. So on the old wheels I wrapped some electrical tape inside the wheel rim, and bought some cheap tyres, and to be honest, I've kind of been expecting the tubes to explode purely because I did a hack job on the wheels. But so far the tubes are good! No punctures. And I've given them some good bumping around on road and mud/dirt tracks. They are holding up well. At some point, there's a good chance that you'll get a puncture on a bike. It's just the nature of bikes. The hallmark of a decent tube is that it doesn't happen in the first week. Proof that maybe we don't need all the expensive fancy stuff (wheel rubber rings, goo, etc) to get the old clunker cycles back from the dusty sheds of the world.

I am normally a road bike rider but was given a mountain bike to do up, I got these to replace the old innertubes the bike came with, but only needed to use one, so it means I can carry a spare. They seem nice and thick, well made and inflate evenly, not had a chance to do a long ride on it yet but would buy again.

A bit over sized I think. I had to stuff it inside the tyre. It worked eventually but it was a fiddle to keep the tyre on the rim at 40psi.
