Lights have a switch on the side for either "on" or "auto" for use of the PIR. I've placed one in an understairs cupboard and one in the roof of our porch as a font door light, both locations using the sensor which has good range and the light is bright enough for use, similar to a normal 60W lightbulb. They also have a light sensor and so don't come on during the day when it's already light.The adhesive on the back sticks very well to any surface, (wall and gloss painted wood in my case but it's very sticky), holding the light securely in place upside down or when mounted on a verticle wall. The adhesive strip is magnetic and so the light is then easy to pull off for charging, leaving the sticky pad in place, neither of the locations I have them in are accessible for a plug or electric without rewiring, hence their use.Both been in place for almost three weeks now and still going, I don't expect them to need charging regularly.Lights come with two USB cables but no plug.
