Were it not for the internet I would have scrapped it & forked out a couple of hundred quid on a new one....which I would have transported myself from the store to my tenement flat, 2 flights up. Thanks to the videos on youtube I learned that all it needed was a new start capacitator, and it looked pretty easy to fit. Searching through various websites I found the part number and lowest price. It arrived in a few days and took a half hour to fit. Heck...if I can do it anyone can !
