Excellent little mixer!
Excellent little mixer! For years I have lamented the fact that playing guitar is not as convenient for me as it was when I was a kid with a cheap practice amp always connected to my guitar. These days I don't have an amp so I rely on my Mac to provide amp emulation. In addition, my digital piano doesn't have speakers, so I was faced with using headphones or powering everything up to use a virtual instrument with MIDI. I have nice Genelec powered monitors so have always wanted a simple solution that lets me spontaneously start playing without having to fiddle around to get set up. This mixer helps me achieve that by keeping everything connected with quick and easy volume control for all channels. Input-wise: plenty for me including a mic channel with phantom power, a guitar-optimised channel with amp sim and reverb, a separate keyboard channel and a dedicated volume pot to control the USB audio output from your computer. With young kids in the house it's nice to have hardware controls immediately to hand to stop you waking them up! Input signal quality is good but is limited to left and right channels, so you can't track from multiple sources and mix later. Doesn't bother me as I write and record alone these days but if you're a small group doing a live recording you'd better be tight and get it right first time. Output is good without noise over 1/4 inch TRS to XLR. I'm not sure if it's balanced or not but as my monitors take balanced inputs and there's no noise I'd guess it is. The amp sim is edited with a standalone app for Windows/Mac. It sounds alright and once you save your settings they stay in the mixer even if you power it off. Next time you switch on (even disconnected from your computer) you'll be able to call up the same amp sim, but beware the only physical control over the amp sim is on/off. This goes for the reverb too. I have a nice clean sound on there that lets me noodle around for a bit when I get the urge, but if you want crunch/OD you'll find it pretty noisy for some reason. In general most plugins for Logic etc will sound better but at least I can play guitar immediately without firing up my computer. Best things are the small size, USB power and simple functionality. If you have similarly minimal needs to me then it'll do you just fine.

Awesome little box
Basically, this is a really awesome 192KHz/24bit sound card with 6 channel mixer and all controls you ever wanted your sound card to have on a physical breakout device. My synth, guitar and a great mic are all connected now and it is super easy to record or play without any faffing about with cables and such. Also, the convenience of not having to click to control volume or select source is just awesome. Sound quality is brilliant and noise is non-existent. The only way to get any measurable noise out of this is if you turn on guitar amplifier simulation - steer clear of this switch (AMP SIM) and you have pristine sound. To be fair, amps do tend to produce this kind of noise so perhaps emulation is accurate in that regard too. Latency can be driven to ridiculously low levels and ASIO driver that comes with this is super simple to configure and use. No clicks or pops on switching on or off or plugging in instruments (at least in my setup). I didn't need to install separate grounding for this as some other people suggested - sound is pristine without. Build quality is great too. All switches, pots and connectors have a good professional feel. The device has enough weight and good rubberised feet so it feel solid on the table with all the cables plugged in - no movement. In all, this is perfect for a home recording setup, podcasting and with 6 channels this can work for live gigs too.

Forget the software
I love this mixer it`s nice and compact and does exactly what I need it to. It was very easy to set up, until I came to installing the Cubase software. It`s a nightmare! I eventually uninstalled it and won`t be using it. So, hence only 4 stars all around because the `free` software let it down. (Just my opinion)

It Took Some Getting Used To But ...
I'm using this for podcasting so can't comment on what it's like for use with a guitar. I left it for a while to review because to be honest, I wasn't sure I liked it. You have to use it with the gain and peak practically at max and that just didn't seem right. However ... I've done my due diligence with my reviews research, and whilst I can't get all technical, they explain why you should use it with high gain and almost maxed out peak. The important thing is that it works, and my podcasts sound much better than they did when using just a USB (Blue Yeti) microphone. I'm using it with the Behringer XM8500 and I can't be happier. It's nice and small so non obtrusive on my desk, I just wish that the USB port was to the side or the front because it means you can't push it flush against the wall. It's powered by the computer, so one less cable to worry about and whilst I know some podcasters might turn their nose up at it, for the price and ease of use, in my view, you can't go wrong. You'll have enough tech headaches to worry about and using a mixer doesn't have to be one of them.

High build quality and a lot of options.
I got this for light entertainment use so I think other reviewers have put it through more of it's paces. I simply bought it for some extra inputs from my networked audio player, my tablet and more control over their volume. So far it seems like an excellent piece of it with very good quality and stability. There's a little bit of background noise and interference, but nothing that can't be managed. There's a huge range of connectivity and options. The build quality is extremely high, even the pots feel remarkably good to turn. I think this would be a great choice for podcasters and home musicians as well as people looking for more audio input options.

Great quality and value for money
Awesome bit of kit and terrific value for money. Broadcast quality audio interface, 6 channel mixer, aux inputs/outputs and Cubase Ai (or LE if you're using your iPad) thrown in for good measure... Absolute bargain! If, like me, you want a high quality, compact and affordable solution to home recording, then I highly recommend this fantastic Yamaha offering.

Its great. It's pretty unique in being a high quality connect all for all the weird devices you might want audio recorded from. The only thing I would change is there are no pan pots on the mic inputs so you can't use a stereo mic unless you use the software which comes with it. The software gives you loads of control over the effects. Latency is good with a DAW and sound quality is very good.

Too noisy
I'm a big fan of Yamaha gear and an owner of several Yamaha keyboards and other instruments. This is the first Yamaha product I've been disappointed with. Firstly it seems very flakey when used with iOS. It keeps cutting out and I have to unplug the USB then plug it back in to get it working again. Secondly it's VERY noisy. There's very noticeable hiss on all the recordings I've made. I've owned other audio interfaces in the past and never had this problem before, so I know the cause is not my other recording equipment. Obviously every audio interface will introduce some noise, even the best, but it's not normally so noticeable. If you're after lots of features, flexible signal routing and you're not too bothered about sound quality, this product is fine. But if you're trying to make decent quality sound recordings, I don't believe this device is up to the job, and in my opinion it's not up to Yamaha's usual standard.

Impecável
Acabamento fino, Fácil manuseio, qualidade sonora impecável. Linda. Recursos excelentes.

Product as advertised. Solid proct but does not include power adaptor.
Need to supply my own 5V 0.5A power adapter. Should have included in the box. This is why the 5th star is missing. Otherwise, solid product. Also need to figure out the types of required cables required and buy them separately before you can use the product (no cable included with the mixer - but almost all other mixer does not include these cables as well). So, this one is acceptable. Does not cost any star on the review.

Calidad excepcional
Está mesa de sonido compacta es muy potente e ideal para montar sonido con varios instrumentos y 2 voces, además tiene salida FX para meter efectos, y muchas opciones de ajuste para dejarlo todo super fino y a tu gusto. Increíble.
