It is less good at cutting along the grain. I have used it on both pine and oak cutting mitres and other joints as well as cutting bits to length. It is pretty effective with chip and contiboard. I have also used it a little for cutting plasterboard though that isn't what it is really meant for. It allows accurate working and gives a smooth finish. I wouldn't use it for construction timber, trees or metals. **Q: Is this 16 teeth per inch?** A: I don't know i just paid for it as it was my dad who looked... Maybe it'll say it is in the description of the product... X **Q: What is the overall length of saw?** A: It is not full size or anything.
